Understanding The Jargon
Are you confused about what your looking for? Don't panic, your not on your own! Explained below is some of the words and phrases you will see on the products. This page will give you a greater understanding when browsing through our services.
What does dry mean?
The term dry simply means there is no sfx/loops/beds/underscores under the vocal. The vocals are recorded and lightly produced to give them a commercial sound. Dry cuts are 100% just the vocal script spoken and will never be processed with fx on the voice or underneath the voice.
What does ID mean?
ID in radio terms means identification. We offer ID's and recommend them to be used for station or show identification.
For example an ID script for a radio station might be something like this.
"More Music Variety - This is Heart".
Show ID's might look something like this.
"This is the breakfast show, on 105.6fm."
Whats the difference between a promo and an ID?
An ID is a bit like a badge you might wear when visiting a commercial premises, it's to give your show or station it's own identification. Promo's are for promoting radio stations, shows and events.
A promo script would look like this.
"Join John & Becky every weekday morning from 6 for the breafast show."
Where as the ID for this would be.
"The breakfast show with John and Becky."
